Structural Protection & Home Defense

Expert Solutions to Eliminate Pests from Your Property

Build a Fortress, Not a Buffet

A house is a system. It has a roof, siding, soffits, fascia, vents, a foundation, and utility penetrations. Every single one of those is a potential entry point for wildlife. And if even one is vulnerable, animals will find it.

Our structural protection service is exactly what it sounds like: we make your building impenetrable to wildlife. No gaps, no weak spots, no welcome mat for raccoons and rats.

What We Use (And Why It Matters)

The difference between a temporary fix and a permanent solution is the materials. Here’s what we use and why:

Heavy-Gauge Galvanized Steel Mesh: Not the flimsy hardware cloth you find at the big box store. We use 14-gauge steel mesh — thick enough that squirrels and rats cannot chew through it. We install it over vents, chimneys, and large gaps, and we fasten it with screws and washers, not staples.

Custom Metal Fabrication: Sometimes a gap isn’t a neat rectangle. It’s a weird shape around a pipe, a vent, or an architectural detail. That’s when we fabricate custom metal flashing on-site, shaped exactly to fit the gap, and sealed tight.

Industrial Polyurethane Sealant: For smaller cracks and gaps, the kind you might not even see from the ground — we use professional-grade sealant that stays flexible in Nebraska’s extreme temperature swings. It doesn’t crack, doesn’t shrink, and wildlife can’t pry it open.

Copper Mesh: For weep holes and small gaps around brick and stone. Copper doesn’t rust, and rodents can’t chew through it, but air can still flow — so your house keeps breathing while staying sealed.

Common Entry Points We Seal

  • Soffit & Fascia Gaps: Where rooflines meet the wall. A classic entry point for bats, birds, and squirrels.
  • Roof Vents & Turbines: Unprotected vents are an open invitation for raccoons and squirrels.
  • Chimney Caps: Missing or damaged chimney caps let in raccoons, birds, and rain.
  • Foundation Cracks: Even small cracks can be widened by determined animals.
  • Utility Penetrations: Gaps around gas lines, electrical conduits, and AC lines.
  • Garage Door Seals: Worn-out bottom seals are a highway for rodents and snakes.
  • Crawlspace Vents: Uncovered vents are a direct route into your home’s underbelly.

Aaron was prompt, thorough, and able to provide lots of helpful information. He answered all my questions and provided me with a detailed plan about what would need to happen to eliminate the bats hibernating in our attic.

Wonderful and professional company!! Louis, Maria, John - helped locate bats in our attic and repaired soffits to seal up the house. Now we wait for the varmits to fly away. Thank you to Louis for the risk of sealing very high roof areas.

As far as I know, these are the only folks in Lincoln who do bat exclusion. And BOY did my house have bats. They sent someone to do an inspection, and gave an estimate with photos on the spot, which was super helpful to know exactly what they were going to need to do, and just how much damage the bats were doing to my house. They seem very busy this time of year, but after I approved the estimate they were able to schedule me in within a couple weeks. I am also excited about their warranty, where every year I can have someone come out and do another inspection and then that renews my warranty.

John was very patient and thorough during the removal and the following inspection. He answered every question with detail and reassurance. We cannot thank him and Bats to Rats enough for their attention and recommended solutions to our issues. Adrian followed up today with the escape tubes, sealing entry points, and installing the vent grill work. Really a splendid job, very professional and effective. I cannot praise this company enough.
